Our next door neighbor said today, “How cool is that for a casino company to hit a 52-week low of $7.77?”

He was puzzled how that new 52-week low could happen on the SAME DAY as Bally’s reported a 9.4% record increase in revenue year-over-year.

It made more sense to him after I reminded him that 9.4% increase is the same as his kid’s local lemonade stand raking in $38.29 in record revenue this past summer after bringing in just $35.00 the previous summer. He just laughed. You should too.

Bally’s should divest its interest in its planned casino at the dying Nittany Mall in State College, PA. The project has been a fiasco from the start, and Bally’s doesn’t need a land-based casino to make money in Pennsylvania now that it has a separate interactive gaming license that allows it to run online gaming in the state.

We’ll learn more when Bally’s reports before the bell on November 1st. The real catalyst is asking if their guests are genuinely happy with their most recent visits to Bally’s casino/hotel properties nationwide. This morning, read some recent online reviews posted in the past six months. Then ask those same folks how soon they plan to return. Could that have an impact on earnings?
