BetAmerica Announces $250K Online Slot Winner, Launches Virtual NBA Game

A Pennsylvania woman is a quarter-million dollars richer, thanks to playing BetAmerica’s online casino in her home state.

The $250,000 cash prize is the largest single-spin win since the online sports betting and gaming company owned by Churchill Downs Inc. launched its casino in the Keystone State in February. In a press release, BetAmerica said the woman won playing Da Vinci Diamonds Masterworks, a game developed by IGT that incorporates artwork from the famous Renaissance painter.

“This was quite the masterstroke, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to see yet another of our players win big while playing BetAmerica’s large selection of entertaining online slots,” said Richard Sagman, BetAmerica’s vice president of online gaming product. “We continue to add exciting new games to our online casino so that our players can enjoy a safe casino experience from the comfort of their home.”

BetAmerica’s online casino is currently available for play in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Besides slots, the company’s online casinos also offer table games, including roulette and blackjack.

In April, a New Jersey player took home more than $245,000 off a total of a dozen spins, with per-spin prizes ranging $5,385 to $68,440.

NBA at Home

Last week, BetAmerica announced its casino players now have the chance to play an NBA-themed game developed by Highlight Games.

NBA Last 60 is a virtual sports game that uses footage from the league archives picked at random. Before the game, players have the chance to bet on such outcomes as which team will score first, the number of points each team will score, and who will win the game.

“This world-first game offers our players an edge-of-the-seat sports betting and casino experience from the comfort of their home,” Sagman said.

The game is available for players in both states.

Online Casino Revenue Jump

BetAmerica’s launch in Pennsylvania came just before the COVID-19 pandemic forced Gov. Tom Wolf (D) to shut down the brick-and-mortar venues across the state. That included the Presque Isle Downs and Casino in Erie, which Churchill Downs acquired from Eldorado Resorts two years ago.

As a result, the company saw its online traffic jump in the state significantly. BetAmerica’s online slots handle went from $2.9 million in March to $9.1 million in May. From February through June, with a little time in January added as well for testing, the online slots generated a handle of $24.7 million and gross revenues of more than $818,000.

Table games produced a handle of $35.3 million for the same time period, with $14.4 million of that wagered in May. Gross revenue for table games was more than $533,000.

In all, Pennsylvania’s online casinos generated $153.6 million in revenue from slot play in the 2019-2020 fiscal year. Table games produced revenues totaling $62.6 million

BetAmerica’s online casino games are available to play by desktop only in Pennsylvania.

BetAmerica also has sportsbooks in four states and recently announced a partnership with the Hannahville Tribe in Michigan to run online sports betting and casino gaming.
