Went to Vegas for a week of golf, i couldn’t believe how trashy it was there. I was afraid of getting muged while walking from the parking lot to my hotel which was the Bellagio. Its turned into a real gang bangers ghetto. Not going back there anytime soon.

I read alot of great views on here but the “ghettofabulous” and “welfare/stimulus” spending people in Vegas is outrageous. That has nothing to do with the situation in Vegas. I worked throughout the pandemic in a food supply warehouse and literally didn’t go anywhere the entire year due to working crazy hours just to load trucks with groceries. I go to Vegas 3-4 times a year but last year I cancelled two trips going out there. I just went recently on January 20th and stayed 3 nights. I needed and deserved a break and guess what I’m not ghetto or collecting welfare. Many of the people that has gone to vegas are working folks who just need a getaway. That’s all. I just really hate when people I’m their own way try to put race or socioeconomic status into everything. We can read I’m between the lines of what you are saying but you can’t speak for others and you don’t know why folks and who the folks are traveling out there and you don’t know their income status either. Some of those people are what is keeping this sad economy from fully collapsing all together. Stop it with the stereotypes and I do believe that vegas can recover from this pandemic but they’re gonna have to do better with deals and incentives for folks to come. There are many people now and soon when weather breaks that will be wanting and desperately needing a getaway. I still go back to the initial handling of this pandemic in the beginning.. we could be in a much better place now with covid-19 had it been handled better in the beginning.

Corona has a lot to do with it but at the same time it’s all them high ass Resort fees they charge you when you rent a room and the police f****** with you all the time don’t nobody want to go down here the resort fees cost more than the damn room if I get a room for 4 days I have to pay $200 in Resort fees ain’t nobody coming to Las Vegas all these Indian reservations have gambling and casinos to people tired of getting cheated out their money I can understand one-night Resort fee but every night is $50 a resort fee and here the room only cost eighty bucks no I would never go back to Las Vegas and the police is crooked and corrupt out there we all know that. Vegas is not the same I don’t blame you don’t waste your time or your money there’s other places out here that we can enjoy yourself at without the resort fees and the police harassing you for nothing. The major big casinos is robbing you of your money and don’t do nothing for the homeless community and the shelters they don’t give back all they do is take take take and they are responsible for a lot of people being homeless and alcoholics so I say f*** Vegas

Not a surprise numbers down. Borders between Canada and US closed, thankfully, and mandatory covid tests and 2 week quarantine mandatory required for anyone coming to Canada. Many European countries making air travel difficult. Now casinos relying on its US citizens to visit. It’s going to be quite awhile before visitors return.

We had an odd situation at Paris Las Vegas, we were upgraded to a one bedroom suite for our three night stay, then I check my credit card and they say I was charged an additional $500.00, Paris claims it was not a “free” upgrade, I never signed anywhere to pay an extra $500.00, we disputed the charged with Visa and won, the credit card company gave us all our money back.

this is entirely false, the hotel groups get 100% of the resort fee, that is why they have the resort fee, so the 3rd party booking companies don’t collect their commission % on the full amount, only on the room rate.

I have a weekend trip planned there for Valentines day. Bringing my kids and meeting up with my older daughter. To go hiking. If its warm enough we would like to kayak. Not everyone gambles. And I have a motel reserved off the strip, cheaper than what you are listing. Last I have never been there. And I won’t be going back if all I hear is your whining about ppl not traveling there. MGM says they are the leaders in service but when entering their properties the feeling is definitely different. Valet is limited with no valet parking, you can drop your bags and go to selfparking or tip the bellman to leave your car up front for a bit. At least downtown knows service and has that Vegas feel.

Just came back from a trip there, worst it’s ever been. Look, if people are worried about getting covid, they aren’t vacationing in Vegas. Lighten up, realize you’re only delaying the inevitable. Requiring restaurant reservations, keeping occupancy at 25%, shutting down shows & transportation?? My state has been open for months, & now is on track for herd immunity. Your absolutely right Stephen. I worked in nightlife with the night life crippled and the lack of conventions. Forget about it. Even though I’m still working the night life there is no crowd to serve and even less quality clientele. If we do have quality it’s rare. Superbowel is around the corner and I’m praying for a good weekend. This article totally left those valid points out. What do people really come to Vegas for now? Right! It’s not the night life or amazing concerts and live games. It’s to get away from LA because they shut down or to get away from the quarantined life. The knuckle heads I saw on the strip spending their stimulus funds was the worst crowd I ever seen in Vegas. Ghettofabulous !!! Sadly the Wynn and cosmopolitan had to increase their security for a few months just to deal with the undesirable crowds that came in.
We need those conventions and the night life back open. We need the concerts and Vegas held venues back to operate to make Vegas functional and get back the quality we are use to.

I agree with Stephan. I work at a gentlemen’s club we are dead. You walk in there and it looks like a Tuesday night. We need convention attendees and just regular Vegas venues back. It’s really slow even on the weekends. I could only imagine what superbowel will be like this year. Not even sure if it’s worth working that day use yo be the biggest night for our clubs.

As long as the policy is 25% in the building and 50 people total at single gatherings nothing is going to change. The MATH says that much. I am frankly tired of reading idiotic articles like this blowing smoke out the arse. Does anybody understand we just had an entire season of NFL Football without a single fan attending? a season devoid of large Conventions and Events? the numbers stated in this screed leave out the absolute fact most of the people who did come to Las Vegas the last 10 months are the exact bunch it has avoided attracting in 30 years. Anybody who lives and works in the city understand were are essentially CLOSED. The Leaders here have no resident to correct anything.
