An accused assailant remains behind bars for allegedly slashing another woman who was sitting at a slot machine in a Las Vegas gaming property earlier this month.
Elonda Alexander, 38, was apprehended by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) on July 9 for the July 8 stabbing in the Aztec Inn casino, according to Las Vegas TV station KLAS.
I hope you die,” Alexander yelled at the unnamed victim during the attack, according to the news report. She also reportedly swore at the victim.
Over two weeks after the stabbing, Alexander remains in custody at the Clark County Detention Center. Her bail is $20K. She was charged with battery with the use of a deadly weapon and a second count.
Her case was turned over to local prosecutors. If Alexander is convicted on the charges, she could face a prison sentence.
Victim Was Hospitalized
The unnamed victim was injured in the back from the repeated stabbings.
After receiving medical care, she was released from the hospital and is expected to recover from the many wounds she received, according to KLAS.
Police didn’t reveal details on the injuries or say if the injured woman required surgery.
Suspect Confessed
Alexander confessed to the stabbing when speaking to police officers, the report added. Alexander also acknowledged she knew the victim long before the two were at the gaming property.
The duo smoked methamphetamine (meth) together just hours before the attack, KLAS reported.
The two women and an unnamed man then went to the casino to gamble. It’s not clear how long they were at the Aztec before the victim and Alexander got into a dispute that escalated into the stabbings.
After the incident, Alexander hurled the knife onto the gaming floor before fleeing the crime scene. An employee spotted the knife and took it to the casino’s lost and found department where it was recovered by LVMPD officers.
LVMPD officers also watched video from casino surveillance cameras before making the arrest. The video captured some scenes connected to the attack.
Alexander wasn’t injured during the confrontation.

My name is Elonda Alexander and I would like to tell my side of the story because I was found not guilty and all charges were dropped due to the fact that the victim is homeless and on fentanyl!
