The legislature and the Governor owe a fiduciary duty to the tax payers of New York State to choose the option that drives the maximum revenue to the State. There should be no question about this. If Genting and MGM want to bid for one of the new casinos, they should be allowed to do so, but the State should not dilute the potential economic impact it could receive from 3 new commercial casinos in order to appease these casino operators who have made an absolute killing with their video lottery monopolies over the past decade. Trust me, if the new casinos go to the other guys, Genting and MGM are not going to close their existing facilities.
