I am more planted in the “if you build it they will come” camp. Before it has hosted it’s first show, the venue itself has become an attraction. And I do think that big-name acts will be lining up to take advantage of Sphere’s technological capabilities as long as it is fiscally attractive for them to do so. And that is not even mentioning the unprecedented advertising potential of the exterior. Granted, it would have been strategic in hindsight to announce additional acts behind U2, but I still believe in the long term success of Sphere.
