I’ve taken Uber rides from Tropicana many times over the years, never once was the vehicle there on the spot as was this time. When I saw that we were being surrounded by vehicles and people jumping out of them I yelled at the driver to drive off. He did not. I repeated myself telling him to “drive” several times, and he did nothing, he just stood there. Background checks for drivers would be nice. He may or may not be implicated. If he drove off that day, I would have likely been in a different situation today.

As a former Uber driver (and I’m sure current drivers) are not trained to face a group, or even one, vicious thieve(s). If this charge is successful Uber will be hard pressed to attract new drivers and will probably lose many of their current ones.
