R&R Partners, the ad agency for the Las Vegas Convention and Visitor’s Authority, debuted its newest Las Vegas commercial this week.
“Whatever you go for, go all out” is the slogan. It’s not quite as catchy as “What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas” (2003) nor as funny as “You can bring your kids to Vegas, but why would you?” (2022), but it’s very cute.
The 60-second spot begins in various hotel rooms during preparations for the evening, where we see visitors bedecking themselves in outfits and makeup evoking the wide range of entertainment on offer in Las Vegas nightly.
One person proudly dons a WWE belt, another the mascot head of the Philadelphia Eagles (though not quite). One couple appears headed to catch some country music, another to a punk-rock show. (These last two appear to tie in Nick Shoulder, the punk rocker-slash-country crooner whose song, “Too Old to Dream,” gives the ad its catchy backbeat.)
At the end, the elevator doors open several times to reveal that all were staying in the same hotel. When they reach the lobby together, they charge out to the night like Vikings to the battlefield.
Check it out…
“Las Vegas means different things to different people, but what’s great is that every one of those things is magical,” Chuck Monn, R&R’s newly appointed chief creative officer, told Ad Age. “Our goal was to celebrate the diversity of experiences the destination has to offer, amplifying the thrill of fandom in all of its forms.”
The campaign launched last week in the US, Mexico, and the UK, with a prime spot during the Vegas Classic Kickoff. It will continue airing in select markets over the next two months during NFL games, the WNBA playoffs, and the men’s World Cup qualifier.
