If a restaurant were to charge me a horseshit fee like this, I’d tell the wait staff to get it removed or he/she will not receive a tip. I don’t give a damn if they don’t make the policy. They can take it up with management.

It’s not clear whether it’s a flat fee or a percentage. Two dollars is a nice round figure, and it’s 7.407% of $27.00, only a little less than the sales tax. Seven-and-one-half percent would be $2.02. Either way, this is worse than the 4.7% “concession fee” at Paris Beer Park, reported here in March 2016 [1]. You’d have to get up to $42.55 for that to become $2.00.
But it’s all right. I wasn’t going to NY-NY anyway.
