In reply to @RevDaveMiller. Nope, pulling it off the pedestal actually seriously damaged the plumbing, the inner workings of the fountain. That's why it's going to cost so much to fix. The damage to the fountain itself is superficial. The statue lost a few toes and there was some damage to the head.

What gets me is the level of disrespect, in my younger days I went around drinking with groups of friends, sometimes in Las Vegas, but we always respected others property, and at a hotel we would have never entered an area like a fountain. It’s criminal behavior, the loser should get arrested at the very least in my opinion, and the others that entered the fountain area should get charged with trespassing. Society suffers if violators of norms skate with no negative consequences, I am all for harm reduction and smart use of police resources, but I also favor accountability…
