My husband and I were in Vegas September 2023. Been coming for over 40 years on a regular basis. Arrived the when MGM resorts were under a cyber attack. What a mess. Found other resorts to stay in, but were really shocked by how expensive everything was. Food was outrageous. Parking was outrageous. Slots were tight. Not the destination we used to love. Homelessness everywhere. People passed out on the sidewalks. Approached at gas stations inside and out for money.
The only redeeming quality was the shows are still top notch. Vegas is totally geared towards high rollers now. No reason to return.

It seemed to be that the hotels/casinos were in competition for lowest prices, best attractions, shows entertainment. Now they appear to be in competition to come up with more scams, fees, and cheapest way to do business, and provide the least amount of return for the consumer.

Echo the comments of others… we stopped going to Vegas due to crap like this. Used to be once a year at the strip, then once a year with more nights downtown, now it’s once a year in Reno. I just booked a room in Orlando for work and the ripoff “deals” attached to the room reminded me of Vegas. Orlando puts a trance on visitors with Disney… can’t get it anywhere else. Vegas used to be that way, but not so much anymore.

Asked for a glass of water at a Ceasars’ Palace owned ice cream outlet at The Linq when I purchased a cone. NOT told in advance I’d be charged $2 for the absolute WORST tasting water I’ve ever had in my life. Venue REFUSED to delete the charge.

I stayed at the Delano last year. I was alone unaccompanied. I never used the minibar, not even opened it. Everything was fine at checkout. The day after check out, my credit card was charged $125 for the minibar. I complained. But that was for nothing. I was only told that the drinks and snacks were taken from the minibar.
