The greatest show on earth meets the greatest food on earth. Now that’s Vegas. I think if the pigs at Bacon Nation had “a choice to perform…”, doing two shows a nite doesn’t sound so bad considering the alternatives. Absurdities aside, we don’t have wild animal shows in Vegas anymore NOT because animal rights demanded it. It’s because Cirque discovered that the human animal was much more interesting than a giant cat perched on a stool.

I could care less if someone wants do do a show with animals. What I find disturbing is the fact that “concerned animal lovers” can nix a show like this with threats, protests and intimidation. There’s a certain faction in our world today that preaches “freedom” but does not practice what they preach.

At the same time, I’ve seen them enough at the zoo, where I can only assume they get proper care. Seeing them jump thru a ring of fire does nothing for me. I’m glad we’ve moved on as a society. Leave the big cats in the wild, where wealthy dentists can hunt them and the world can be outraged because he can afford to.
