I have attended the Bronx Wanderers show every year since they started their run in Las Vegas and was looking forward to seeing them again in December. They are the highlight of my Vegas trip. I have also seen their show at The White Plains Performing Arts Center, White Plains NY. I hope they will return to Vegas and White Plains very soon. If you haven’t seen this wonderful group, please make it a point to do so. You’ll leave with a smile on your face and a song in your heart. I just love them and I know you will too.

In reply to Dan. I just saw news of the Bronx Wanderers closing. I am reading some emails and texts below. The sad part about this is that the bronx wanderers show is the best show in las vegas . i think the marketing should have done more to let people know about this great show. They never got the big audience it deserved. So sorry it is closing. Hope the group continues working and making lots and lots of people happy everytime they play. Good luck Bronx Wanderers. You're the BEST.

Hi,my name is James Denney. The late Grant Griffen and I
brought the Bronx Wanderers to Las Vegas for their
first show at the Southpoint Casino. I think 2012?

Their nucleus was built around Vinny and his 2 sons.

They were a charismatic group. Vinny was charming and

sincere. The audiences always got sucked into the vibe.

Congrats you guys had a great run and I’m sorry the industry

curbed your enthusiasm. I had a stroke a 2019 and, with covid

coming 5 months later, I haven’t left the house since.

I wish I could have seen them one more time.

So, the difference between a profitable show and a money loser is 10 seats that are being comp’d? And House Seats or Fill-A-Seat are extorting these tickets from them somehow? I had no idea. Typically, shows are delighted to give away seats they can’t sell at the last minute, and it just happens that locals can go at the last minute. But savvy tourists do it, too. Maybe I’m not understanding what he’s saying. Or, perhaps there is something else going on here that he doesn’t feel free to reveal. BC I don’t think he’d blame the audience for unsold seats.

Just saw the show in September, was excellent. Then ran into the dad at Bootleggers restaurant the next day couldn’t have been nicer! Told us one of his sons (drummer) is opting out of performing with them. Said the sone wife doesn’t want him traveling.
The father said he feels terrible about it.

Their producers made a huge mistake and it’s sad that Vin believes their lie… locals do NOT “expect” free tickets. As a former box office manager and a House Seats member… I can attest that probably no show in Vegas has given away more tickets on House Seats than the Bronx Wanderers. Plenty of nights when they otherwise “sold out” …they had comped at least 20 people via House seats. There’s no telling how much income they’ve given up this way.

This is a misuse of House Seats. Most every other show in town only gives away tickets when their sales are so low, they won’t have an audience to perform for. So they pad the house with comps. For some reason the BW producers felt they needed to keep giving these House Seats members free tickets, even when their sales were good.

“Successful shows don’t close” is wrong… shows with smart producers don’t close. Amazing how these producers have convinced the Bronx Wanderers that it’s the local fans who made their show unprofitable… that it couldn’t possibly be the result of mismanagement. So many good shows have failed in this town because of terrible producers.
