My company to book me at either Cesar’s or MGM resorts but even with comped rooms there are fees and the machines don’t pay and the Buffett’s are no good (unless you want to pay $50-60 at the Wynn) . So I lrefer to stay at Hilton Home 2. The old Vegas is gone it’s all about squeezing every nickel out and we as consumers see this. The casinos need to give us a reason to not stay home and go to Indian casinos. My go to casino is Red Wind in Yelm, WA, where jackpots are announced constantly overhead and the place is jammed packed. I still love going to Vegas but when a casino lists $30 per night for a room and the resort fees and parking add up to $80 a night ( and a small dog adds $85/night -Ballys ) I prefer
To stay off strip. The cost of Vegas is too high it’s not a good value and as casinos lose revenue they add fees to everything else making it worse it’s a sad vicious cycle. I hope the casino execs hire some consultants and make some changes. As for this Vegas fan, no more strip staying for me.
These are my two pet peeves:
– Parking fees
– the Live Entertainment Tax passed by Nevada that adds ~10 dollars to every nightclub ticket I buy. They were already collecting sales tax, so why add a second tax? Greedy politicians

]]>Which is why this Vegas local quit going to Europe years ago. The overvalued euro. And when I found out the whole Euro dallar amount was based on fraud, it was over. There are plenty of places in the world I can go wiht otu being ripped off. I think of the jewelry store in Greece that had no shame in her over priced gold items. I walked out and wallked away in 2008, never to return.
Pricing her items by what cruise ship was docked, I saw her look out the window. I’m sure I wasn’t the only one she did this to. Now betting she is out of business. Greed puts her there.
Like many others, I have reduced my number of annual trips. I only stay off-strip and downtown. And for those of you who say that downtown is that much better… you better start taking notice. It’s going downhill fast for the same reasons as the strip.
