Vegas loop is 2745 meters of tunnel and cost only about 50 million. Comparatively Atlanta plane train tunnel extension is 253 meters long and cost $331 million. The entire Vegas loop cost only 1/6 of the price of the Atlanta train tunnel extension project. Both systems perform a similar function. !

The smoke suppression system can move 400,000 cubic feet of air per minute in either direction down the tunnels, there are smoke and CO sensors and cameras everywhere, a Fire Control Centre staffed by 2 officers during all hours of operation, high pressure automatic standpipes in all tunnels for fire-fighting, an automatic sprinkler system rated at Extra Hazard Group 1 in the central station etc above and beyond what was required by the national and international fire codes including NFPA 130 – “Standard for Fixed Guideway Transit and Passenger Rail Systems” and the 2018 International Fire Code (IFC).

Um, Musk is building the 34 mile 55 station Vegas Loop for ZERO taxpayer dollars. So much for “lining his pockets”.

Buses are 5x slower than the Loop due to city traffic and having to stop at every bus stop on the route.

Golf carts are far too slow and low range for the 34 mile 55 station Vegas Loop which will feature speeds well over 100mph in the maiun arterial tunnels.

Heck, at 25mph they’re too slow compared to the current LVCC Loop EVs which travel up to 40mph.
