Baseball is a dying sport and the A’s are already dead. If you put this to a vote in LV, I’m not sure the yes’s would hit 35%. Why not save our capital and good will for an NBA team which would bring some true excitement to the city and not saddle us with a dishonest leadership group and a long-term path to be average. Meanwhile, Oakland’s opponent on the run line everyday.

NObody likes baseball, so no, you can’t draw 30K a night. god no. look at the yankees. nobody goes to those games, not when they have broadway and expensive dining everhwyere you look.
but plenty of baseball teams don’t sell out 81 home dates, and aren’t losing cash. Baseball is more affordable. ti’s still expensive to go to a game, get a good seat and pay obscnee prices for food and drink, but basbeall has more inventive than other sports to discount and promote tciket sales during its season. and you’ll get into an As game far cheaper than you’lle ver get into a golden nights game. baseball will be just fine. some people actually enjoy going to a baseball game.

All we know is that there is a “Binding” land agreement with Red Rock. When I first heard the news I was thinking the A’s have upped the ante and have a new bargaining chip, that is all. To me “binding” means they will lose some dough if they break the deal but the upside would easily offset that. Until they apply for a transfer with the MLB and it is approved look at the buzz it has created, cheap. I read an article yesterday by an ex-Marlins exec who said exactly that. It is not a done deal, until it is!

There’s a reason you don’t use quotation marks when you’re actually paraphrasing something: if you’ve gotten the meaning wrong, people know to double-check the source.
What this article (and its source) actually says is “analysts say the ballpark will draw about ‘400,000 incremental visitors annually to Las Vegas.'”
The key word here being *incremental*; 400k incrementally visitors annually means that the presence of the team/ballpark alone will bring that many additional guests to the city that would not have otherwise come.

“Analysts estimate the A’s stadium will attract about 400,000 people yearly”. ??? Hmmm.
There will be 81 home games for the A’s, so that’s less than 5,000 in attendance per game. That’s pitiful if true, especially for a stadium that can hold 35,000 fans. Maybe there’s some incorrect math in this. Celine Dion and others routinely had over 4,000 fans at the Caesars Palace Colosseum for each performance.
