I have not heard any really good reviews of RW and when I spent a week out there in February I skipped it, I spent more money downtown and drove out to Red Rock (only place I won) and took a trip to Hoover Damn and checked out Lake Mead and went to the Stratosphere and the one night I stayed on the strip I ended up in Henderson where a friend rented an airbnb and we went downtown to hear a great 80s band!. Next trip will be a long time from now as Vegas is pricing themselves out of the fun weekend getaway and turned into a 3 day trip that will take up more money then a 7day cruise or a trip abroad. I got cheap flights on Southwest $108rt from Chi and had Comp rooms for most of our trip but spent more there than I ever have and this time it was just me, my husband didn’t go so I took a friend who had never been to Vegas, She Hated it! I have been going to Vegas since 1997 when my grandma moved there,I have taken 37 of my friends over that 25+ years and she’s the 1st that HATED LAS VEGAS! I think the prices and the walking I made her do was much of the problem and I think she was a bit scared because that weekend there was a shooting at the same gas station I stopped at that afternoon. After a couple days she was ready to go home where we had a snow storm that closed the roads back home and no flights could leave the day before! It was 70 and sunny in Vegas. I love the city and I didn’t think anyone could ever hate. She could get a flight and I kept trying diffrent aspects of things to do but she said never again. Now a few months later, I look at what Vegas was for my first trip there in 1981 to now and I get why she was uncomfortable. I use go all over the valley and not think twice but over the years it has changed to the point of don’t relax because you have to be 100% aware of your surroundings and watch who may be lurking around the corner and if you make a card purchase or get cash from an ATM check your accounts multiple times, I got charged twice at ALAMO about 5yrs ago and that’s still an ongoing case! Next trip I go somewhere just to gamble, I’m going back to Foxwoods in Connecticut, they still believe in good customer service and I did not find that in Vegas this trip, sadly ??
