I’ve been in mourning ever since Lappert’s at the Cal stopped selling malasada in the morning a couple of years ago. Dough Dough’s won’t be nearly as convenient, but the much wider menu will be a real boon.

I hope the place catches on and sticks around for a while!

Yeah, what’s with the whole singular vs plural thing in Hawaii. Ask for a pack of Marlboro Lights and every time they’ll ask you “one?” I thought “a” sort of means “one.” That’s probably why they don’t sell malasadas by the dozen, because it’d waste too much time when dumb people order a dozen to go.

tourist: Can I have a dozen malasadas to go?
server: One?
