Went to Barenaked Ladies last night (Oct 9). Great band and decent concert, although they are usually much, much better. Its just too bad the majority of fans were relegated to 30ft from the stage. Typical Vegas, best seats/areas are comped. 75% of the VIP weren’t even paying attention (ie) constantly talking, taking selfies, walking back and forth, and being douchebags. I’d be surprised if those 75% in the VIP section even knew who the band was even though the name was on an elevated large screen behind the band. I’ve been following BNL since 1989 and I know the VIP area wasn’t the bands idea. The lead singer, being Canadian, even made a polite jab about it. I do not expect BNL to perform on Fremont again. Unless they eliminate the VIP section from their contract. It was too bad because not having the fan base at the front affected the whole feeling of the crowd and it took a lot longer for the energy to build up. I was thinking about going to George Thorogood in Nov, but not after last night. Actually I probably won’t go to a free concert fown on Fremont ever again.

George Thorogood and The Destroyers are a fabulous live act, I saw them at the Los Angeles Coliseum open for the Rolling Stones in 1981, they had 100,000 people standing up… Get there early for this show, Fremont Street is going to be crowded and buzzing…
