I guess I’m happy that Fremont is expanding, but my question is…..If Downtown Grand wanted to attract more people to the walkway, why allow your building have graffiti on its windows, or not try to fill the area with stuff to attract people to your casino? So, basicallly, DTG is banking on Boyd to clean up the area. If I was Boyd, I’d say TS, you attract your own people.

I love the Fremont Hotel, that’s the only place I stay! I love that there renovating. I love the friendly staff there! I’m so happy there expanding. The Grand needs more exposure too. Can’t wait! Be positive people!

Like many casinos downtown, Fremont is forgettable and unspectacular. I can find something to write home about in most downtown joints, but the Fremont is as forgettable as they come. Once upon a time $3 craps made it memorable. But dang, I’m hard pressed to tell you anything about the inside of that joint. Oh yeah, it has that Tony Roma’s that people either think is some sort of great value or some waste of time and $10. No clue. Never dined. But lots of crapping on the cheap meals there tells me I won’t be amazed. I got the 99 cent shrimp cocktail at Lanai once many years ago. What a joke and absolute waste of 60 seconds of my life. Anything they do to clean up that place and improve its offerings is welcome. But I’m sure 6-5 blackjack and just about everything that use to be worthwhile downtown won’t be part of the expanded casino floor. Great, Fremont will offer more of the same. I soured on downtown at this point. Casey out.

Is the walkway open or will it be under a canopy? I would think that the canopy would be the more favorable alternative especially in the summer.

I’m all for the revitalize of that walkway- it’s sketchy AF anytime of day walking from DTG to Fremont that way.
