Marcy Playground: one-hit wonders. I don’t know how they manage to keep booking gigs based upon one lame song about sex and candy. Toadies: I know one of their songs.. might have been a hit. Same deal. Smash Mouth: lame ass band. But it had hits. Although its lead singer had a meltdown and is no longer in the band, so the headliner is a lame band with a replacement singer. You’ll have to pay me to attend this. No idea what Walk the Line is. Can’t say that’s an impressive booking, or a lame booking. Soulja Boy: Poor man’s Coolio. RIP Coolio. Most of the others seem like bands that had a couple of hits. I still have no clue why Skillet is a big deal, but it is to some people. Gin Blossoms and Fastball aren’t playing at the same time, and I thought Fastball was another one-hitter. Gin Blossoms seems line an appropriate headliner for Fremont Street’s freebies. No hair bands yet. Mostly rock, but 90s or later. I’m sure there’s more country and western coming. Who doesn’t love country or western? “More boot scootin'” said nobody ever.
