Great line. Have a great trip, Matt, a trip to Vegas is even better when you can get a little glimpse of history.
]]>Tupac would approve of any of those. He was an artist. A reporter from a culture that was ignored until it couldn’t be ignored anymore. Regardless of how much you disagree – he is just as important today as he was then.
I’m headed to Vegas tomorrow for the first time ever. As fate would have it I’m staying in the MGM grand. Where his ill fated last night took a stupid turn for the worst. And I’ll walk to this spot and pay my respects to Tupac. Not the gangster. The man.
]]>Tupac had a different version of the facts. What a surprise. And his fans would prefer to believe his side. Even tough it’s obvious at the very least he lured her there to be victimized.
Whatever the actual sequence of events that happened that night were, the jury found him guilty of first degree sexual abuse, and he was sentenced to 1.5 – 4.5 years. He had his day in court and had the money to hire competent counsel. Everyone is entitled to their opinion of the degree of his culpability in the events. But the fact is that he was found guilty of the felony of first degree sexual abuse. Everything else is just people’s opinions. And that is probably sufficient in most people’s eyes for there not to be a memorial in his honor in Las Vegas.
Here’s a link to an interview with the victim recorded a few years ago:

It should be noted that the trial took place over 25 years ago, and he was found guilty then. In today’s atmosphere, it would have been worse for him. And the decision on whether a memorial should be created today is going to be decided today. It seems like little chance of it happening.
]]>Yeah we all read that part. You are really good at the copy and paste function!
]]>I totally agree….Tupac was genius…Tupac was loved by many……his music influenced people twice his age<~~~very rare. Many genius rockers have commonly endorse some nasty sh*t….could care less about their personal lives……I was there the night he was shot at the MGM walking past the fight crowd…..there was something in the air that night and I will never forget it! His close friend said "the air was bad that night"<~~~for her to say that, boy she nailed the atmosphere in the MGM that night!
]]>Regarding the first-degree sexual abuse conviction (NY Times):
But Justice Daniel P. Fitzgerald said, “This was an act of brutal violence against a helpless woman.” He said that Mr. Shakur had been the “instigator” of an “arrogant abuse of the victim” which culminated an escalating display of arrogance as he pursued his career.
The judge went on to sentence Tupac to 18 months to 4.5 years for the crime. Apparently the judge (as well as the victim) was offended more by Tupac’s actions than you.
