There are lists showing resort fee’s and parking fee’s – taxis can be cheaper if you only go to one place a day or the monorails …
many cheaper buffets are fine for avg meals .. outside restaurants are okay also . enjoy ….

Resort fees are a clear message to all customers. Stay away! My regular pilgrimages to Las Vegas for a fun and exciting holiday. are now over. Before you would lose your money gambling but come home to tell all your friends what a great time you had. When the Mafia controlled Las Vegas it was a fun city offering low price hotels, cheap buffets, many comps, free coupons and a welcoming wild west hospitality. Now we get the Raspberry from the likes of the Corporate Giants like Caesars and MGM that eliminated all the competition by buying them up and stopping all the benefits that we all come to enjoy. Follow my lead and just stop coming to Vegas until they finally get the message.

Gerard – I live here and play in a “hardrock” band here. First of all, one the main bands at Fremont plays 80s pop music; I believe they play two or three nights a week.

But to answer your question, the reason why many Vegas bands play loud rock and roll is because it’s what the majority of the audience want to hear. My band is an “all-request” band, and about 85% of what is requested is AC/DC, Def Leppard, Guns ‘n’ Roses, etc. I’ve been doing this a LONG time – to put it bluntly, the kind of folks who hang around watching a free cover band are rarely the kind of people who listen to Steely Dan.

Las Vegas / Sin City or SCAM CITY
As a regular visitor i like to say some things about Las Vegas
Do I call Las Vegas Sin City or SCAM City well I will call it SCAM CITY, and I tell you all why:
Almost all hotels are charging resortfees, which I call a big ripoff and a big Scam.
The resortfees are between 10,00 $ and 45.00 $ per night per room, it depends where you staying, so before you book a hotel check out the resortfees. The cheapest places to stay is in Downtown, Las Vegas Fremont Street.
They tell you that the resortfees are for :
Internet – free local phonecalls – use of the business centre – free newspaper – pool – additional inclusions – in room bottle water – Gym
Internet you don’t need because everyone has internet on their phone
Free Local phonecalls, who you going to call no one you on vacation and don’t need this
Use of the business centre, why, you are a tourist ant not allowed to work on a tourist visa
Free newspaper why, no one interested reading a newspaper if you are a tourist and on vacation.
Pool, this should be included, and mostly in December they are all closed
Additional inclusions, this is nothing so simple is that, they want you to believe that there is more.
In bottle water, WOW thats maybe all what you need, go to Wallgreens and get it here
Gym, No one is using this while you on vacation
So overall the resortfees are a big Scam and a big Ripoff because no one need this and no one is going to use this , and why you should pay for something that you don’t want and not use.
And be aware if you book thru a website that they not always mention the resortfees.
Sometimes the resortfees are higher then the roomrate, this is ridiculous
Alcoholic Beverages
Alcoholic beverages are exstremly expensive, for a beer on the strip you pay almost 9 $ dollar and for a cocktail between 15 and 18 Dollar, way to expensive, most people go to a convience store to get their drinks there, its way cheaper. In Las Vegas downtown in Fremont Street there is the Fremont Hotel and Casino there you get a Heineken and Corona for 3 dollar at the bar.
Public Transportation
If you going to use the public transportation be aware that the tickets that you buy in the machines on the strip or in downtown are more expensive a ticket for 2 hours cost 6 dollar, a ticket for 24 hours cost 8 dollar and a ticket for 3 days will cost you 20 dollar.
Off the strip tickets are cheaper, a 24 hours ticket cost 5 dollar, you can buy this ticket if you are using a bus off the strip, around the corner of Balleys there is a busstop, you can take the bus from there to Maryland Parkway, in that bus you can buy a cheaper ticket, and at Maryland Parkway you will find alot of shops, and grocery stores, way cheaper then on the strip.
If you arrive at Las Vegas Mc.Carren Airport you can take for 2 dollars a bus to Downtown Fremontstreet which is way cheaper then a shuttle or a Taxi.
Restaurants
The 10 dollar buffets are history, if you like to go to a buffet then you should know that the prices are very high a buffet cost now beween 19 dollar and 45 dollar per person, and this is for dinner.
Breakfast and Lunch buffets are between 9 and 17 Dollars
Some buffets offerd a discount with your playerscard, the regular cards are not valid anymore, they have changed this , only cards with a high level are accepted for a discount.
Tips
This is a issue that bothers me, they want you to tip everywhere and atleast 10 to 20 % of the bill.
I find this very rude that they ask you, how much tip you are willing to pay, this is something that you have to decide yourself if you want to tip and how much. If peolpe ask me then I won’t tip at all.
Fremont Street Experience
Fremont street Experience is in downtown where you can see a light show, its really nice and you should go there to watch it. This is only in the evening. Notice that its very noisy there, and the music that they play is horrible only hardrock, this is going on already for 8 years and I don’t understand why they always play hardrock music. Further you will see alot of people doing some acts and asking you for tips, actually all they do is begging for money this is to much and I find it very annoying You also see alot of tourists shops
Freemont Street is very noisy, so if you have booked a hotel in Fremont street its hard to sleep, the noise continues untill early in the morning
Shopping
There are 2 outletmalls in Vegas, there you will find good bargains.
Las Vegas Premium Ouletmall North and the Las Vegas Premium Outletmall South
The Las Vegas Premium Outletmall North is a outdoor mall
The Las Vegas Premium Outletmall South is a indoor mall
Parking
If you are planning to rent a car, or you driving to vegas, be aware that alot of hotels they charge parking fees, so before you book a hotel check out: how much the resort and parking fees are.

I hope this information helps you a little bit if you are planning a visit to Las Vegas. My experience based on my last visit which was November 19 untill November 29 2018 is that everything is very expensive like I mentioned before. If you don’t like to gamble, then there are many other things you can do. All they want is your money, and when sin city can’t take it, then it turns into Scam city

We were in Vegas last week for 4 night. Really peeves st the $40 a day resort fee at Harrahs. And points? I play table games blackjack and poker, no slots. My points after 5 dats added up to $1. Yup. ONE DOLLAR.

Next trip we’re back downtown. Better food. Better games.

But like so many others we aren’t coming as often. Too many fees. And this last time we avoided weekend nights by coming Monday morning and departing Friday evening.

– Parking fees

– the Live Entertainment Tax passed by Nevada that adds ~10 dollars to every nightclub ticket I buy. They were already collecting sales tax, so why add a second tax? Greedy politicians
