We saw the show last night. Everything the author said is true though one part, that is easily overlooked, was left out. (Or maybe it was just done last night and not on the night the author was there.) Under all the gags and jokes and dancing there is a message. To paraphrase Miss Behave, “The world is going to shit and it is not getting any better, probably ever. Since this is the case, why not have fun? We get one shot at this and since there are no rules, make them up as you go along and enjoy your time here.”
Along with that there were several other pieces of advice such as “Don’t ask; Don’t get.” “Life’s not fair.” “Remember when we all thought it was possible? It is.” “Be nice.”

In reply to William Wingo. Thanks, William. I'd suggest entertainment was never free. It was paid for by gambling revenue. Now, that's declining, so each part of a casino has to be profitable, including shows.

In 1970/71 I saw a lounge show at the Stardust (RIP) called “Bare Touch of Vegas” for the price of one drink. IIRC there were eight or ten dancers, live musicians, a comedian, and a variety act; but minimal props and sets. There were similar lounge shows at many if not most of the strip hotels.
“Bare Touch” was similar to today’s “Midnight Fantasy,” “X,” “Skintight,” or even this show; but it was basically free. Nowadays this type of show costs in the $50 range–plus taxes and fees, of course; the $49.99 turns into $53.00–and drinks are extra.
I guess that’s progress, folks.

Do you think this show would benefit from a later start time? I would guess a later start time would have a more lubricated audience.
