Yes, great progress but they keep hiring Caesars Entertainment Mangers to continue to run different departments, at least back in the convention center area. That, I will not understand as they still have the mentality of that horrible company.

What are they doing to entice locals and tourists from the strip? In the old days, it was the best buffets (Carnival and Seafood) and the show in the sky. I don’t see anything that will bring me there as a local. They say buffets are a loss leader, but last time I went to the Palms for the buffet, I dropped $400 in the casino. I wouldn’t have gone if not for the buffet.

The folks over at Fountainbleau & other Strip resorts could take some lessons from what is happening at The Rio. There’s a big difference in the market placement objective of Fountainbleau but the basic services customers want is the same. Fair prices, clean establishment, friendly employees and incentives to return because you enjoyed your visit. Too many Vegas visitors go home feeling gouged excessively and decide to spend their vacation money elsewhere.

Stayed there twice in the last month. It’s great to see the progress going on at the RIO! We’ve always enjoyed the place (except for the last few tears the previous management group ran it into the ground). On our second stay, we were in a renovated room. We liked it! Finally clean and well appointed. Yes, the casino floor is sparse at the moment, but that will change. The food court is looking great, got a sneak peak as they only have curtains up at the moment. Looking forward to a Philly cheese steak, hope it doesn’t disappoint…We have faith in the new management and just love to see improvements, finally! So glad they took the P&T wrap off the building. We always requested rooms without the wrap as it denigrated the strip view harshly. Way to go RIO!

It’s the first move I’ve seen a casino do in a long time that’s the right direction. Putting prices back to at least reasonable will definitely make more foot traffic, and possibly room guests if they make that affordable too. Lower prices, better comps, especially for locals. remember RIO, gotta be something to make me want to visit. Entertainment for sure, and not just P&T, no cover, local bands with cheap drink specials would be huge. It’s not just locals, remember they recommend to others the best places to visit, ya gotta treat them good. they are the best and cheapest advertising you’ll get.

The burger, cheesesteak, and ramen joints look promising and way cheaper than anything on the Strip! Look forward to getting back to the Rio one day. The hubs and my memories of the Rio are from the mid to late 2000’s when we took in the Show in the Sky and the buffet, agreeing that both were awesome! I’m sure the transformation will restore the Rio to its former glory. And that carpet really IS sexy AF!

Not sure how I feel about those Fred Flintstone sized steak-tables in the rooms. Nobody has mentioned them yet, so maybe they’re cooler in person than in the pix. I think there’s a dog treat that’s shaped like that, too.

I’m so glad to see the Rio getting some love. Remember the Carnival World buffet from back in the day and how cool the property was when it was “Rio” themed and the Marnells ran it. They use to have some of the most gorgeous cocktail servers. Get that food halls are the new thing, but that Tenders place charging $2 for dipping sauce – come on! I know its Vegas but you still get complimentary ketchup for your fries and burgers (I guess some executive could do to ketchup what MGM and Caesars did to parking and say less monetize this and make it no longer complimentary unless you are Caesars 7 stars of Diamond or something). Awesome to see the Marquee getting some love – that is some cool signage. Seems like Rio could benefit (as could Gold Coast and Palms) if they offered complimentary shuttle from the strip to those casinos. I feel like that area could be more effectively marketed collectively vs. individual property – they could call it the Flamingo West District (or something better – I’m just a guy spitballing here in this comment section).
