Didn’t expect this to have much of an effect on me – I stayed at the Riv in 2012 when it was already on the severe downslope and wasn’t impressed.

I did feel a twinge seeing it come down though, there aren’t many of the “old school” Vegas strip props left. While I agree that Vegas is (and should be) always moving forward, it was reassuring to know that some of the classics were still around (that said I definitely won’t shed a tear when they rip the guts out of Flamingo soon and remodel it – that place is a dump).

Mr. Vital (aka Scott) do you believe the Rivera will be the sacrificial lamb for the north end of strip to pick up developments? With so many strip hotels already at high occupancy levels and rising room rates, the convention space will spur Resorts World and Fountainblu to start construction? (Thanks for answering my stadium question earlier)
