I have only been going to Vegas for a 13 years, so I cannot say I have seen any of these in their prime. I like the big casinos, but prefer the smaller on the strip. Part of the fun of Vegas is walking out of the Venetian and into Casino Royale. Soon, you will not be able to go to the strip with out a stack of money. Oh well, still love Vegas, but I guess at 38 I am just the old guy. Who remembers the Boardwalk Casino with half a craps table.

I do find it sad to see an old(er) part of Vegas dying, every casino just keeps giving way to newer casinos vs investing in history. I understand that money talks, there is barely any history left. Even downtown is being replaced with bigger and not necessarily better casinos/hotels. I guess convention space is where it is at, just hate to see the Rivera go. Try and keep us updated on the implosion, I will be out there at the end of August
