Its a shame its not directly on the strip. Im guessing the best view of it, hotelwise, would be from the back of Venetian/Palazzo and maybe Wynn/Encore?

The Sphere should have been on the Strip or at least somewhere where it could been seen a lot better from the Strip. Also it would be better if it was part of a hotel or gambling place. Right now it screams bankruptcy.

Every casino in LV makes money (tons) from gambling, booze, food and rooms. Does the sphere have a new formula for making money cause they have non of the above? with what i’m sure will be staggering monthly operating costs, ticket holders better plan on a bucket of buttered popcorn costing a good portion of your vacation budget.

From the pictures and from other YouTube clips, it appears to be very high-resolution. That’s probably where the money went. Remember the original Fremont Street Experience was pretty low-res compared to this, although perhaps near-state-of-the-art for such a large display at the time. Then every time they upgraded it, the display area shrank because they couldn’t afford to upgrade the whole thing. On Sphere, they’ve gone for the full effect from the beginning. It’s certainly spectacular, but I agree with you about the financial situation. Time will tell.

The only thing more amazing would be watching the power meter spin. Definitely an uphill battle to turn a profit if your business model is selling movie tickets and booking a few bands.

Gotta admit its quite the spectacle. Thats saying something when its already in Vegas, land of flashiness. WIll it be profitable though? Who knows. But I hope it doesnt end up showing endless ads all day. Gotta make back that 2bil.
