It was ugly-on-ugly. Nasty rides next plasticky movie-set architecture. Awful. While I was busy being disgusted, the sports industry quietly snuck in and set the Strip on a whole new trajectory. I think we’re just getting started. The Strip will cosmetically remake itself several times a year to suit sports events. And I predict the UFC will become the Sphere’s biggest customer, and combined they will create a video competition/game spectacle that will blow everyone away.

You obviously don’t work around the strip. road work is an inconvenience, living with F1 for months was a nightmare. it’s hard to calculate how many hours of my life was lost sitting in traffic to accommodate F1 and casinos so they can make profit. The lack of planning when they envision these events is amazing and I assure you, workers are at the bottom of the priority list. Hence FU F1 and every person involved that approved that freaking nightmare event.

Difficult wheelchair access, lifts broken or out of action deliberately at the cross overs, and the whole feel and ambiance blighted by shoddy looking light stands, grandstands and Arris fencing. Looked like a major construction site than the glitzy city we had paid thousands to come and explore. You keep doing this, you will soon see yourself. Out of the top 100 world destinations. We booked our trip well before F1 was being advertised, and knew nothing about it. Our excitement wained daily as we watched for ourselves the mess you were making. Don’t blame social media, they did a good job in letting us know what was actually going down. And up as it turned out.

I’m so glad I didn’t move there. It’s become a total Sh.. hole.

Ridiculous and definitely just gross as you stated. I thought you were joking at first , but I guess not.

Couldn’t see the fountains with friends like I had many times before, and the redirects from racing nonsense made traffic worse.

I LOVE sports (except for car racing), but I LOVE Vegas and gambling too! Stop the madness of covering up the fountains and other attractions!!!

I don’t understand why people move to a tourist town and complain when they don’t cater to its residents. That’s how we make our money is by catering to the people who don’t. How do you keep people coming back? You host new events to keep it exciting/keep people coming. Yes, sometimes it causes headaches for the locals and the events don’t cater to ALL tourists, but that’s the nature of the industry. That’s what allows our city to grow, that’s what keeps the money flowing. Also there’s no need to have a meltdown about them blocking the fountains, this is not the first event to do something like this and it sure as hell won’t be the last. It’s cool like I get it from an event planner perspective. Does it suck for people who are coming for the first time and aren’t able to see it? Maybe a little bit but honestly there are better vantage points of the fountains than the streets that have been blocked off, just up to folks to not be sheeple and find them. I AM having a meltdown however about the Bellagio using fake flowers in its conservatory. Now that’s something you can be up in arms about a ‘luxury’ resort cheapening itself for what? Also, I don’t know where this person is getting their information but F1 was wrapped pretty quickly after the event (the trees were returned folks!!) and the resulting construction that is currently going on is for the super bowl/pre existing projects.

Us residents are the ones who suffer and the city doesn’t have the infrastructure for this. Just keep it simple….. you know the rest.
