Could it be where the Rhumbar was?? I heard it was closing and a new concept would be introduced. There is a frozen drink grab and go concept right next to Rhumbar in the entrance of Mirage. Just a thought.

That does not look like a Tiki Bar (it looks like a rush job, “quick we need some place to f’n schill drinks and make money outside, because Vegas attracts visitors who only want to walk outside our f’n Resort!” shit that used to be at the Tropicana many years ago before their fugly South Beach makeover!)

Tiki Bars NEVER last on the Strip! Remember Taboo Cove at the Venetian circa 2001? (remember that it didn’t last an f’n year before being shuttered? remember it’s bad location? I remember the cool Statue out front + Shag art + Bosko Decor!)

I’m surprised we haven’t seen the tiki theme exploited more often. Honestly, it’s overrated. It’s a look, it’s distinct, you put more fruit in your tropical cocktails, serve fewer whiskey-sours. With the longtime love of Frank and Goldon, I’m surprised the strip hasn’t exploited the idea long ago. I am also surprised Ellis Isle didn’t keep their tiki motif, but I like the idea of changing of the look throughout the year.

I don’t walk the strip or go to Mirage, ever, so this does nothing for me. I’m sure we’ll see somebody slap together a tiki bar downtown in the near future, if there’s not one already. You’d think the California would have one.
