Lets not get the cart before the horse. If they do put a retractable roof in, that’s gonna cost a pretty penny more. I’m still wondering who’s gonna foot the bill for this 9th wonder of the world? folks, that was true sarcasm. Only an idiot would put up money for a ballpark on the strip. imagine how many empty seats, especially with a team that has a track record like the A’s. truly a waste of real estate pushed only by executives(slime) that will see plenty of grease and bennies.

Steve Wynn’s implosion of Dunes has to be the Implosions of Implosions. For me those were the beginning of what I term the “Vegas Golden Years”. An unprecedent building boom that went on for a couple decades. Back in the day, when something got demolished, you reminisced over the old, but were also excited about the new.

I went to the openings of Resorts World and Fontain Bleu. Sure it was fun and they are nice properties but it seems the day of building cool unique properties are over. Sadly, the ballpark seems to be following a worse route than the path of these hotels. Why would you build a ball park, in Vegas, without a retractable roof? The design of that park just looks plain ugly and generic. Come on – You’re in Las Vegas. One of the most iconic cities in America if not the world. Why not play on the towns history and build something with a historic twist? If Ballys is fine with an A’s Stadium that looks like that, that lacks a retractable roof, I am not expecting the Bally’s Hotel on that site to be anything special. Or, mabye I’m just turning into an old man pining for the “good ol days”.
