In reply to Mako10. In October I took a cab from the airport to the MGM which cost over $20 after the credit card fee, airport fee and tip. I used uber from the MGM on the way back and it cost me under $11.

Anyone have a price comparison for uber/lyft vs a cab? lets say youre going from the airport to Wynn…will it be a lot more expensive?

As a semi-pro drinker I can confirm that these ride sharing services take drunk drivers off the road. Convenient, cheap and much needed in a town that seems to hate pedestrians.

Any action that forces the taxi companies to work better & fairer must be welcome for everyone. They have condoned long hauling for way too long.
For us, after travelling for over 12 hours from England, the very last thing we need is a nasty argument/fight with a cabbie who wants to charge the best part of $50 to take the two of us downtown!
We will certainly try one of these new services in the new year.
