Las Vegas NEEDS an actual mass transit option. And yes government should be in the business of subsidizing public transport (it’s a basic need for citizens of a city). I know Las Vegas thinks it’s special and all, but you can’t get around the need for mass transit. Look at the ease and benefit of government subsidy of public transit of most of the cities around us – Phoenix (light rail from rental car facility to airport to main rail line), Salt Lake city, Denver, San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland, Seattle and the list goes on. Las Vegas is stuck in the dark ages on this. This loopy doo whoop is NOT the answer. Although the monorail isn’t perfect (they let is stagnate instead of continually improve it) it’s closer to needed mass transit. Look at when large conventions come here, the monorail moves thousands of people around. I predict the Vegas loop will be a FLOP. I hope I’m wrong, but my gut says otherwise.

Vehicles traveling between Resorts World and the LVCC Loop central station no longer have to drive across the parking lot as shown in the video, but can stay underground for the entire ride. Same situation with traffic from and to the Westgate station once completed..
