And it costs too much for them to do a real investigation if they suspect you of something. I was kicked out of the Cromwell for something I didn’t do. It’s easier and cheaper just to throw people out on mere suspicion.

The accused me of doing something I didn’t do. Maybe it is cheaper for them to just kick people out than it is for them to spend time and effort to make sure the customer really is guilty of the accusation. This is an example of how little casinos really value customers. If they can get away with kicking someone out, they will. It’s more cost effective to bar people on mere suspicion than it is to look for the truth. If they don’t take time to make sure they have the real culprit, they have to kick many people out to increase the chances that they have the right person, and even if they do this they are still less likely to get the real culprit than if they just spend more time investigating. If they quit looking for the culprit after kicking me out, they will be victimized if the real culprit comes back to the casino and does what they accused me of doing.

I couldn’t believe it and was kind of pissed off, yet another way to screw your customers out of a little more money. Can’t wait for the next “Resort Fee” increase to help pay for the air in the building and, I don’t know, the toilets having water in them. At least the pool drinks were only $24 each.

Agree. People like the lower table minimums with this game, and it’s often full when the others are empty. Different kind of customer.

The Venetian staffer wasn’t referring to all casinos in town, just the Venetian and Palazzo, which definitely cater to conventioneers, who (a) know little, if anything, about gambling, and (b) don’t really care whether the odds are better next door. That said, every property in town is looking for “creative” ways to enhance revenue, largely because the old model of relying on the casino to subsidize the whole operation doesn’t work any more. There are fewer hard-core gamblers, and Vegas visitors demand a higher level of service and quality than they did in the old days, when rooms, food, etc. could be priced way low because they were nothing special.

Your typical American lager (Bud, Miller, Coors, et cetera) is 5 percent alcohol by volume. Most beers fall within half a percentage point either way. Light beers are usually 4.1 or 4.2 percent.

Except what’s the average alcohol percentage in beer? 4%? 6%? 9%? That difference alone will change what a shot should be!

The guy at the office water cooler who brags about how he won $1000 in Vegas last weekend is what drives business. No more water-cooler stories, people will stop coming.
