The Wynn golf course is a failure, the timing was rotten, and the notion that you could charge people Pebble Beach prices to play in between hotel towers was idiotic. The parts I could see from the Monorail look fabulous, but not $600 fabulous. This was Steve Wynn’s ego at work, he built Shadow Creek and got nothing but attaboy’s and positive reviews, The old Desert Inn golf course was a classic desert design, they did not have to bulldoze a billion cubic yards to create topography, I miss it. Nobody is going to miss the Wynn Golf Course…

I’ll never forgive Matt for calling wynn paradise park a “public pool”… it was Steve Wynns final vision & would’ve included boat parades, a party island, & nightly fireworks. Not to mention the plan would’ve still kept the golf course (9 holes). Huge missed opportunity in my opinion.

Wynn’s depressed stock price puts her mkt val at $10-12 billion. But she’s sitting on $13 billion in properties. Macau is the only headwind, and she has huge room to run with her under-developed sportsbook ops. As Cramer points out, with the Steve and Matt guard gone, you can almost hear the predator’s lips smacking in the shadows.

Matt Maddox is probably burnt out after 20 years (from Steve’s ???? ‘s to their Macau Casino migraines). His successor will probably continue to push mobile sports books / online gambling (kids today don’t like walking into a Casino, they like the Casino on their device by the pool!).

Congrats on steering that Wynn Resort thru the pandemic Matt (correct – this is one of the few Resorts that looked after every single Employee + the Restaurants on property!)

I used to dig that Popeye Statue at Wynn and then it got moved to Encore Boston Harbour (yeah that one by artist Jeff Koon) –

Maddox did a phenomenal job as CEO of Wynn. Let’s hope Craig Billings lives up to his reputation. Best resort in Vegas, by far.
